Btw, i read that apparently you can’t get the McD Saimin anymore in Hawaii since 2022; their supplier retired and closed shop, and McD hasn’t elected to get a new one.

Nope, although most locals will point you towards Zippys (a well known local chain) or Rainbow Drive-in instead for Saimin.

Tenichi (Tenka Ippin) closed down their only location in Honolulu, so you can’t even get their ramen there anymore. The same goes for the Tenichi location in Southern Osaka (Kire-Uriwari 喜連瓜破) that serve burgers - closed as of February 2023 and replaced with a udon shop.

Kire-Uriwari is a strange name for a location by Japanese standards. The Osaka metro Tanimachi line stop is between the former town of Kire 喜連 and Uriwari 瓜破 in the area and the metro operator decided to name the station that way to keep the locals happy.
Kire Uriwari can mean “happiness through breaking melons” based purely on the kanji reading (Kire is somewhat normal, and Uriwari was named that because there used to be Shinto rituals in the area involving the offering of melons to the local dieties)…
