I think T/N getting analogy wrong. If pour salt into water then the salt will dissolve in the water seemingly being destroyed. Or at least until pour more salt in the water then there is water. (Like pouring 12oz of salt into 8oz of water.) My take is that he's saying the fountain is creating a spiritual force within its immediate area which is sustaining the water allowing it to stay as water. However, if take water too far from fountain there's no force maintaining it so it quickly breaks down and vaporizes. So if want to take water will need a special container like the jade MC used on his special water to increase its shelf life. Typical small fry bad guys, just breaking through with brute force without caring that could damage the environment sustaining the fountain much wrecking the fountain before getting to it and assuming the treasure is theirs just because they say so.
