I had originally thought that his obsession with his own death, and waiting for so long for an announcement was indicative of some fact that perhaps decades or even centuries had passed since his death, and that he was going to have to fight to reestablish himself in this “new” jianghu.
To be honest, it was something that I was dreading since it’s been done so much.
However, the way that this story is progressing, being able to see the reactions of the people - and grief of those close to him - in real time as they process the loss, is truly a breath of fresh air. It’s enough to make me revise my original impression of the story, high as it already was, and uptick it a few notches.
