him being dense in not realizing she wants him to call her by her name doesn't make any sense when we know for a fact he is aware than the south sea people only ever say their names to those they wish to marry or kill (she literally repeated it when she said her name to him), so he should be aware that she wishes to be called that by him. why is a valedictorian scholar so suddenly uninformed to cause artificial drama? i would understand it were it him being drawing a line (she did literally attempt to kill him once because of a misunderstanding on top of holding a group of martial artists hostage at the same time) or not wishing to act conspicuous in a room full of strangers but considering his inner dialogue, yeah he just for some reason doesn't understand why calling her "young lady" is equivalent to an insult in this situation. it just reeks of pointless contrived drama and i hope it goes away soon

tbh while yeah she's pretty and all, she's among my least favourite of the potential love interests despite her being definitely the most likely candidate judging by her screen time, mc's reactions to her and the way the plot is flowing. i typically like the emotionless or ice queen types the most but i just find her kind of boring and bizarrely inconsistent of a character
