Oh, straight to the fights? No special training here to deal with the info his opponent will aim to take him out before it goes on the ground, huh? Just the previous training to deal with leg locks and such. Nice.

All signs point to Kureishi losing miserably. If he paid attention he'd know Aoba has a history of taking out fighters way better at striking than him, which also includes a guy he lost to before and previously the guy that recently trained him for a couples months.

I wouldn't say Aoba is an anti-striker specialist but I only see Kureishi only having a bit of a chance if he ends up being the greatest striker Aoba has faced so far...which he wont.

And the fact that it seems like he didn't take training for this seriously is a bad sign.

The scariest grappler are those willing to get punched in the face tbh. Aoba's got that dawged determinism to put people through submissions like he's a Gracie

this setup gives me batman vs owlman vibes, both aoba and kureishi focus on grappling, but when sh*t hits the fan, kureishi blinked i.e. shifted his focus to striking, which will def bite him in the *ss especially against aoba

I absolutely love how Aoba’s reaction to the champ was basically “Bro I don’t even know you???”

The only disappointing thing about this chapter is we didn’t get to see Kenshin absolutely fucking fuming at this news🤣

Of course! All Aoba needs really is to surpass Kureishi's ground game because Aoba historically has shown he's willing to get viciously beaten till he succeeds at taking them down. So yeah, Kureishi is better at striking? Aoba will take those hits and choke him out -- boy's obsessed with that submission win!
