Yeah, I was really confused when it was stated before that his opponent was 80kg while he's at 66 - were they just ignoring weight classes? Turns out he's not at 60 but at 71 and the weight class is 66kg so they're both cutting water weight before the match, but his opponent is severely dehydrating himself.

They should just have the weight measurement right before getting in the ring to avoid all the nonsense and get fighters to actually be fighting in their weight class.

Could be that Reality Scans is making mistakes, wouldn't be the first time. He's not actually in it for the translation, he's a known scammer who rushes, doesn't care about quality, and who explicitly targets series that were already being worked on. I wish people would have higher expectations about quality tbh. Especially since now he's paywalling chapters like he owns them, this is Mangadex not webtoon.

Unfortunately, there's some fighters who do this all the time in the UFC. Some are closer to the weight class above than the one below, but kill themselves to make a lighter weight, so during the fight they can bring that weight back up and have an advantage in size and mass. A lot of these guys look like they are about to die during the weigh-ins and then the next day they look like they are twice the size - which is horrible for their bodies.

You see this especially in Heavyweights who kills themselves to make Light Heavyweight.

It's all about having any kind of advantage come fight night. If you have a similar skill level to your opponent, but weigh 10kg more, that ends up being a huge bonus in a fight.

this is why I feel bad for “true middleweights” in MMA. They’re basically fighting heavy weights or light heavy weights every time they go out there.

Well, scanning isn't legal. It's just that there are rarely translations of most manga, so we as a community get a big pass until there are legal translations. Tolerated though it is, scanlations are still a black market, and unfortunately, the only rules are those that we as a community can universally enforce—a rare occurrence even with major sites like Mangadex and Reddit acting as hotspots of community activity and coordination.
