I rarely root so hard for an MC

I really liked the way Aoba defeated Hiiragi, martial arts manga tend to save the wits battle for later, at the end it was believable

But Aoba can be lucky so many times, this opponent is too strong, Aoba must lose at the end

Yeah, I feel like if Kenshin what is the protagonist this entire story would’ve been complete ASS. I LOVE how the author uses Aoba to express to the reader the brutal realities of fighting, while at the same time still capturing what’s so cool about combat sports. Like if this were any other manga most people would side with Kenshin but here. It works because Aoba’s side of things is so understandable

I can’t help but look back to what the pink haired ex-doctor kid said. All that fancy talk about “always fighting fair and square” CAN potentially kind of come off as the arrogance of the more talented in certain contexts. Especially when objectively speaking Aoba broke NO RULES.

The one at fault should be the coach for letting his injured fighter take part in a multi match tournament setting and the FIGHTER for not respecting the doctors orders.

Kenshin is main charactering so hard he's such an ass.

Great for outsiders wanting a "hero" type but within his profession this can definitely be frustrating when he treats you like some small side character while he's standing on a pedestal.
