My God, the translation is so frustrating… While I appreciate the effort made to provide readers with something, for the love of God please get an English speaking proof reader. Anything to make reading these chapters less of a headache, please.

Not my translation. I am just re-posting from mangagreat.org. Good luck contacting them, the website has no valid way to send a message. I know because I have tried to contact them. I have said many times. I am only posting under the mangagreat group name to give them credit good -or- bad.
I understand your frustration. I know very little Japanese sometimes reading the subtitles (anime) I catch a phrase that I know. And it's not what the subtitles say, not even close.

It's been awhile since I've read the novel, but they're still utilizing the old style muzzle-loading black powder cannons... And I'm pretty sure Roland phased them out well before this.

(Then again, this same manhua showed them using flintlocks (without a fucking stock, annoyingly enough) when they were already using revolver rifles... So...)

What I don't get is how there's so much shit Chinese web manhua that get translated and we still have to rely on people that put English in a blender to scanlate something like Release That Witch.

And if you go back, there's just been swathes of releases of some of the most garbage shit ever for this series. I will never understand why Release That Witch is basically like a beacon/magnet for the most Engrish/MTL wordsoup low-effort releases possible. It's almost uncanny how it keeps happening over the years. Why does it keep happening so often?

Isn't this chinese?
Yes origin point is China. Hence the poor translation. Unlike Japan high schools and college where English language is the most popular second language. If you want to go into an international business trading with the top Economic counties, English is a must.
Unlike Japan, China is iron fisted under CCP control. Unless you are top leadership in the CCP, you don't get to see outside of China. The closest an average citizen can get outside of china. Is the little sticker "Made in China", that gets exported. So learning English writing or language is beyond easy. Hence very ugly translations.

Appreciate your efforts to keep the mangadex page updated chapters (whether they are good or bad). Like Dr.Duckling said, beggars can’t be choosers. its really sad when stories are so badly represented to international readers just because of an inadequate translation.

It's sad with complaints about bad engrish. Do you have any idea who many other languages trans groups do ? It's huge!!
I know of one trans group that waits for a English and Spanish of a chapter before translating. So this group doesn't know the original, but gets a good idea from seeing the other 2 trans. What ever floats the boat.

But then a really bad trans can kill it for you. I did follow a manga, it was half way good. The English trans way OK, not great. Then it was dropped by the starting group. Later another person (not a group) started translating. He purposely used an Australian slang as the basis of writing. You could not follow it. Even relating to graphics with the trans was not even close. Eventually it just became Aussy dirty slang 100%. Then I just dropped it totally.

P.s. New chapter in 2 days.

I wouldn't expect less from the art team that draws cannons without trails for the gun carriages from the very first moment the first cannon was presented.
With how the most cannons are depicted in this manhua they can shoot once in a very long time, because if a cannon with a trail jumps like a bull in a corrida when shoots and thus needs to be readjusted after every shot made to have somewhat consistent accuracy, you can try to imagine what'd happen without it, especially when mounted on a wall (+ people that need to stabilize such a cannon with hands for every shot would get injured, because they'd need to hold its barrel while firing a shot).

Needless to say that cartridges were being drawn for all the revolving musketes and naval guns are too big (and probably heavy) for Roland's small steel ships.

Yeah, IIRC, the naval guns on the steel ships are modified versions of his 152mm artillery piece. And they look... absolutely massive on the ships.

I mean, 152mm is only a 6" gun. Those are secondaries on even ships from the late 18th century. But they look like they're 10"/254mm guns or even bigger.
