There's something so touching that it was Kariu being the one who helped him and made him realize this. Kariu was basically the first one he helped solve her problem and the fact that she used his words against him 
So satisfying! And I love this made him see them more as equals and not underestimate them as kids, that they can help him as much as he can help them. Really love the character development!
Also the fact that the report lets Kaizaki able to read Hishiron's thoughts)) Kaizaki to the rescue!
