If researchers are conducting experiments they usually don't tell their subjects what they are looking for otherwise they compromise the data. This should be the case considering that Yoake's supervisor said not to be too close to the previous subject. Still I guess it's not entirely experiments and more rehabilitation.

That's probably how the supervisors see it and why they scold Yoake. But if they do nothing to do the subject and it stays the same, then the ones who want to see changes, then that's also a problem. AKA the higher ups just see people as experiments and data while the one who's actually conducting it (Yoake) is earnestly trying to see improvements in all the areas (not just numbers)
