Ok, so let me get this. The plan is to take people who the education system has failed to prepare for real life, put them back in school... and hope it goes differently this time?

Yes, they're rehabilitating NEETs, people who gave up functioning in society. It's supposed to help reinstate that thirst for a life that one used to have during one's youth but probably took for granted. Having it be in high school puts the experiment in a more controlled environment that inquires a lot of social interaction. The educational part is optional, as it's irrelevant at the end of the experiment, but how they choose to live the experience and affect their peers is a big part of the process.

Lord both Hishiro and Yoake had it so rough in the first year Seeing how calm and composed Yoake is, you would not expect how bad he's been going through just the year before Arata.. Really makes you appreciate Arata's existence even more ;w;
Also the fact that An has been supporting him the whole time, their development is subtle but it was always there guys!
