Worse then bland. Like he's been using his position to force and/or pressure her to hang out with him for most of this chapter, despite her blatant disinterest—which is to say he's exactly the kind of unfortunate and annoying guy she described him as when she was reviewing her friend's novel!

Narrative forces dictate that if we've come this far they'll likely be a couple anyway, but this is just enough of a trope-crushing series that I retain some small hope that she's just going to break his black little heart mercilessly. XD

Hmmm sad to say probably not, theses types of stories time and time again have ‘strong female character’ that is always more or less dub coned into being with the ML who treats her like a weak delicate flower and by the time the story ends with them never actually using their strong powers (or if they do they are lambasted as being reckless and ‘women shouldn’t have to do X’ and thus refuse to use their powers ever again).

I expect by chapter 40ish the MC will be wearing overly expensive clothing costing a fortune and most chapters will revolve around tea parties and the ML taking care of all the problems while the FMC call people idiots in round about ways cus ‘words are weapons for women and tea parties are their battlefield’.

The protagonist is interesting, but everything else its very generic, the prince in particular, he makes everything boring.
