When you see the other antagonists yeah he just seems like an easily manipulated idiot.

I wouldn’t say being dumb and indecisive is his main problem. He’s married and he decide to cheat, which means he betrayed Aoi’s trust. It isn’t like where they first divorced and then he got closed to Karin soon after.

This isn’t some teenage romance where changing partners is normal. I know not all marriages last, but his marriage was stable. Yet because Karin is prettier, he became fixated on her and threw away all the memories and connections he had with Aoi. Now in the past few chapters the same happened, he cheated on Karin for Sumire Ito, who is pretty but all the good parts of Aoi, this guy is peak sleazebag.

At least his indecisiveness is a small saving grace since his first marriage never had a child. Imagine the trauma a kid would go through in this situation.

He already got his comeuppance by being mentally broken, but this divorce with Karin is still necessary in my opinion. Now he has nowhere to turn and will finally feel what Aoi went through after he cheated with Karin.
Even her own parents hated her and blamed her for the divorce. She had nobody to lean on, and now he’ll feel the same.

So far, no physical harm has been done directly from Aoi to Karin or Kippei, like stabbing or torture, so it’s still fine revenge to me.

He literally "cheated" on Karin with Sumire. He is not redeemable at all

lol interesting she advised her to cut her hair b/c in the live action sumire had like a shorter haircut by like ep 2 or so (or maybe b/c it was the actress had short hair at the time and they didn't wanna make her wear a wig all season or just a storytelling choice to contrast between karin still having long hair), altho it looks nice, if you don't know the context of the story, be nice to see this artist do more stuff in the future, they don't seem to have any more entries, at least not on MD

wonder if karin will question/suspect anything unless there's something we didn't see in the photo like a mole/birthmark or so (she might not suspect sumire b/c of how 'helpful' shes been but i can imagine kinjo being smart enough or hiring someone else to look into it versus him laying low/disappearing and leaving the country for a bit)

Tbf usually ppl irl always hate on the woman that cheated versus the man even in cases where the woman didn't know that the guy was taken (tho this is a diff case) And when he got 'caught' by Shibata-san his first instinct was to ask her to keep it a secret/not tell the company

I think it's bc sumire also hated his cowardness/wishy-washy-ness of how easily he was 'swayed' by 'a beautiful woman's tears' but yeah just the company hating him would be enough idk how many ppl would want him to stay hospitalized but it'd be ideal if he did get a fresh start (if this got more extreme i can imagine someone with kippei's personality getting indoctrinated into a cult or so lol) altho sumire admitted she's 'not a good person' and willing to go that far/full scorched earth short of like, paying someone to assassinate them lol (altho you could argue that the two of them always staying together would be his own torment/stuff would prolly happen to where their relationship would blow up anyways but sumire is just making sure he'll see how awful karin is)

Only if he stayed loyal to Karin. Guy decided to cheat AGAIN after his first affair, a thing that was fully in his control. Yes, Sumire did indeed manipulate him into his repeat offense, but surely a reasonable man would realize before it got too far.
