Everything Sumire does to both is very extreme, she has no breaks at all. Her mission from the start is to completely ruin them, physically and mentally... To the point of no recovery.
And yes, she is the "villain" of this story, but her reason is justified. You don't need spoilers to get this, it's pretty clear from the beginning of her revenge.

I think she saw them together once, so she kinda figured she is the mistress and followed her to make sure (don't quote me on this one, i'm not 100% sure). She has no idea that she is actually the ex wife, that's why she decides to help Sumire after she tells her about herself.

I swear the revenge manga i saw the woman end extremely poor or living the same thing she did mc suffer. Ok, the number of revenge manga about cheated woman i saw can be counted with the finger of one hand and will not use all finger,but this kind of ending is rare to me.

This kind of devolpment i'm expecting. She put the hostess job as bait, Karin start living with rich guys and be druken with all the attention, some guys start offering money for somethig more than acting like she care about him, she start do "side jobs", she get expulsed because the "side jobs", the side jobs became the main job and then she became a full-time employer.
