Not sure about the age difference but By the time they were in college I think she would've recognized his name if the affair happened for his parents around 14-15 even if he reverted to his mothers maiden name after that divorce, and his looks don't look too different compared to Sumire who has surgery /plus not like he knew Kippei before , think the few friends she would've had would've been mutuals from the astronomy club
