I usually read manga in English, but sometimes a group in my local language picks it up and floods the update page.
I don't want to block them; I just don't want their chapters to show on the update page.
When I have enough free time, I might go back to read my local language.

Since what you're describing is translated language related, have you tried unchecking that language and only checking it again when you want to read chapters in said language? You don't need to go to settings, just click on your cat portrait of the main site and the third option from the bottom is "Chapter Languages", which shows the complete list.

That might be true, but there are many manga titles available only in my local language translation.
Having an option to choose might be better since this site already has a turn off notification function (just add it to the group as well).
This feature could also be useful for those who want to hide MTL translation groups without blocking them.
