Hello,

I would like to request the permanent deletion of my MangaDex account.
My username is: Static54
The email linked to the account is: skydrostatic@gmail.com

Since the "Delete Account" option in the settings currently shows "temporarily unavailable," I kindly ask the staff to process the deletion manually.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,
Static54

In all seriousness, the account deletion feature is on indefinite hold, due to the problems it would cause with the current site architecture. Best bet in the meantime is to clear out as much information as you can from your account.

Couldn't they just delete the entries and keep the rows intact in their database ? I'm not well versed in the 'technical' side of data infrastructure so I'm curious.

Neither am I - I'm just repeating what has been mentioned before in the support channel on the discord. While this is nominally being worked on, the dev staff is small and being kept busy with more pressing issues w/r/t keeping the site up, so this has been on the SOON™ list for some time now.

The database tables are quite heavily interlinked so that this isn't viable. And while it seems obvious in hindsight, when certain engineering decisions were made, this was not predictable

The technical decisions that need to be made during dev and that come back to bite you, I know them too well. :nyoron:
