Okay, I think I see where this is going;
It was Set who likely set up our MC originally, despite pretending to defend him. The crime MC supposedly committed (the missing children) wasn't false, it was just incorrectly attributed to MC.
MC was likely so quickly and coldly taken care of because of the nature of the crime, and because it was against kids - I suspect that the clan head actually really likes children, and was disgusted by the crime to the point he snuffed out the suspect without a proper investigation.
So with a greater love for MC, and possibly being given back his granddaughter, the crime MC will likely be accused of again (since it's happening in his town) will be thoroughly investigated and doubts will stop the head from immediately condemning MC this time... it's probably at this time MC will also partially forgive the Head too.
