Title might be too relatable lol

i wonder how long it'd take for laundry to dry normally, depending on your clothes, i wouldn't wanna do it just in case if wind or random ppl stealing, storms aside

hope it works out for her, it'd suck to be outed at work and while it shouldn't affect your job i don't think there'd be enough rights/able to countersue if she did get fired for being gay or so

looking at Wikipedia at least, there is no protection for employment discrimination against one's sexual identity in Japan.
Actually apparently Japan is very conservative among developed nations when it comes to LGBTQ+ rights in general (it was not a fun Wiki page to read if I'm honest).

Honestly this was a fucking mood and a half.

I too would have told God to fuck right the eff off in her shoes. That's potentially her whole professional and social situation going up in smoke all at once, just because she sought happiness.

No one needs that shit, rainbows be damned.

Yeah, wish it would still reduce the stereotypical amount of like "you married with kids yet"? since it's apparently common for office ladies to 'retire' after having a kid/married as opposed to temp maternity leave but yeah sucks if you have to pretend or indirectly reject coworkers that constantly ask them out. or just wear a fake wedding ring and pretend the partner's the opposite gender

It's not good. It's getting better, but it's still not good...

So much bitterness in these comments, god damn.

She confessed to a girl who was straight and got rejected. Okay?
"She's going to tell the other co-workers who are older folk" "My career is finished"

Mighty presumptuous, you don't know what the reaction will be. Yes, they may not like you. They may be supportive of someone who just had their heart broken. You don't know. Honestly it's a bad idea to "Fish off the company dock". Just a general rule.

"Oh just shut up"
Damn girl, taking a slight random good and just smother it with your self pity and misery.

She must be great fun at parties.

Generally in Japan, being outed as a gay person is seen in a bad light and childish. This on top of the "old people", that probably are more conservative on their views, being paranoid feels like a normal response to what happened.

Cut her some slack, her coworker just shunned her the night before.
Let her grief, for gay people confessing to someone straight takes a lot of effort, even if it probably wont work.

Honestly sounds like an overgeneralized swipe at the Japanese people. Look genius, this is a work of fiction. This could easily take the route of an older co-worker sympathizing with a broken heart and them becoming friends.
The thing is you don't know. I don't know.

I want to see this play out, but we can't. I'm stuck with the one chapter with her wallowing in self pity and her worrying about something even she doesn't know how it will play out. It could be good, it could be bad. Coin toss, I don't know.
I personally want to see this story play out and see how she will pull herself out of her self pity party and make herself happy in the long run. And all I see in the comments is "JAPAN IS BAD BECAUSE THEY DON'T LIKE GAY". Okay, LOL, run with that.

I thank god every day he made me get turned off by women that like men. The amount of heartbreak he spared me is insane.
