The only way to get through those books is if they're required to buy because of money bullshit, despite only using at most one page. A book properly suited for a course can be enough for the entire course.
Luckily when I studied I never had a book I was required to buy, as long as I could study the material properly. But I've heard some horror stories where the students are forced to buy several expensive books or fail the course, even if those books are barely used for anything in the actual course, tests included.
