Otaku stuff is looked down upon because it doesn't follow the social norm of getting married and forming a family.
The question about the different distributions due to age is because of being raised in different generations with different social norms, or because older people have more experience and are better aware of themselves.
Don't think that scale works the same for 2D/3D. Most people who look at a 2D image imagines a real person, but gay people don't imagine a person of the opposite sex.
I like those, "Yeah, he's important to me. What about it?" moments.
