I don't even think we can call her a gold-digger. A golddigger only remains in relationships where they can profit from their partner's access to money and/or power.

This girl is pretending to date our guy to force a reaction out of the childhood friend so that the childhood friend will pay her off to leave.

So she's really just more of a con artist.

But honestly, given she did infact get ya boi into shape, and is getting the two of them together, she's sort of a failure of a conartist and more of a match-maker.

IIRC there is some common-culture story in that corner of Asia about unwelcome suitors being bribed to go elsewheres by a love interest.
