based on what i already know, in page 17, "moebius ring" & "kurian pipe" are most probably referring to "möbius strip" & "klein bottle"; they're concepts of topology (the study of shapes) with infinite surface & infinite volume respectively; the "ö" letter can be written as the "oe" combination & the "l" sound can be confused for the "r" sound during translation with japanese; "möbius" & "klein" can be written as "moebiasu" & "kurain" in japanese; "strip" & "bottle" can be accidentally replaced with "ring" & "pipe" due to confusions with terminology during translation with japanese
