So, basically, Iren has already decided to spare humanity. He is artificially altering the results of these experiments to make humanity look good. Which means all tension is gone in this story. He will simply try to keep his head down and avoid negative humans. He's just going to be a spineless loser who bows and scrapes before every villain, while praying that his family spare these evil monsters. I'm not sure I will enjoy this sexless, fightless, dramaless borefest... I'll keep reading though, in case a big twist happens.
