She's talking about letting them grow when it comes to their abilities. Not about him not having to be there, but in preparation for when he's not. She has the potential to surpass him but can't....

Oh wow i hated that logic, also wasnt she young af? Why should anyone be taking parenting advice from her? It's also not like they are currently in some dire fucking scenario where the kids actually have to become super powerful (As of yet in the plot atleast maybe that changes). The biggest danger we've seen was HER LURING MONSTERS TO TOWN. "Be more absent so your kids can grow more powerful", nahhh just keep being a good fucking dad and kick this spoiled brat to the curb.

She is right and I almost wish he was told this almost at the start of the manga and not until now, it would make for an interesting premise instead of he showing how overpowered he is for 50 chapters.
