After reading up to now, I can only say I'm a little disappointed in the execution. I had hopes for the premise, but the way the story is being told just feels half-baked. I prefer my steaks medium-rare, not manga.
The merchant hired all-male adventurers to escort his 12(?) year old daughter to a marriage meeting, all by her lonesome without so much as an attendant or a chaperone? Likewise with Odo's reasoning if they were going to play the doting parent bit, Cress was essentially scouted to become an adventurer, but even he believes she's too young. Now...it may be the norm that kids who reach that age make the minimum to be considered eligible to join the work force in this world, but he only just asks to be made into an adventurer alongside her, without so much as stating he's worried about 2 adolescent girls being escorted by an all-male team, without even a single trusted representative or acquaintance of Machis. Even if they trust one another, should they be leaving their kids in the care of unsupervised armed strangers? Maybe we can give it the benefit of the doubt, that they came recommended as trustworthy by the Guild, but they still act a little too carefree. Author must be quite young if they can't even consider this mindset. If you're going to write about doting fathers, at least be consistent.
