Ok so, I'm pretty sure they have been trying to give us a reason to sympathize with the bad guys organization for a while now. But like, can you really? Like in the early day, he killed 1 person to save an orphanage, acceptable.

But now? Now he's just coping, cause even if the orphanage still operates till this day, the number of people he has killed far outweight the number of children the orphanage might have able to take in, which defeat the whole fucking point.

Now let's go down the list of reasons to see if we can make sense of his action.

1. Assuming that the 2 new assassins are his close friends back in the orphanage and he's trying to take down the JAA cause they're trying to kill them. Those 2 are clearly not "good" cause if they're, JAA wouldn't give a fuck about them. Not to say that JAA is the good guys here either, cause they're not, they're just an agency for people that work in the profession, you can't just group 1000 people together and decide if they're good or bad, cause it has been stated that assassination, weapons supplier,... in this world is just a job, they're just people making a living. And you can't decide if the agency is bad or not either, cause it only job is distribute and provide services to those who want it.

2. If he decides to go the emotional route and says he does it because they're his friends/family and he doen't want to lose them. Therefore he killed hundreds of people, whose might ALSO have friends and families, meaning that he values 2 people over hundreds of people which is the direct opposite of why he does this shit in the first place. This makes him a hypocrite, and maybe racist, sexist, homophobic as well as transphobic if there are people of colors, lgbt people and people of different gender to himself in the HUNDREDS of people that he killed, which is high fucking chance.

3. If he says that he want to destroy JAA because he became an orphan cause assassins killed his parents or something. Which leads back to the second point of the people he killed also have families, which again, make him a fucking hypocrite.

4. Or if we look at what he said, which was "To create a better world." So he decided to destroy the organization that is KEEPING THE FUCKING ORDER, as well as CAUSING MORE FUCKING CHAOS EVERYTIME THEY DO SOMETHING, which again, make him a fucking double standard hypocrite, but now also make him a fucking idiot too.

So yeah, the author might as well not do the backstory bullshits and just cut to the action cause no matter how you look at it, they're just bad.

WOOOW the ‘Legendary Step on me’ Assassin?! The guy literally vaporized underneath her…
Death flags were placed but I really hope those two survive and become a duo.

What are you talking about…? They made pretty clear everyone around Slur is just fucked up. Doesn’t matter if it once started for any moral reason but the manga isn’t really one for redemption unless you’re about to die or you’re not un adult.
Having a backstory and being sympathetic doesn’t make them not bad guys…

Yeah, that's my point, so I'm asking why bother giving them a backstory at all, just make them a bunch of one dimensional bad guys and be done with it.

So it's either Hyo will die from protecting Heisuke, or he somehow will cover and help Hyo

Oh I get ya, but making them more complex is usually more beneficial because it gives them the chance for more unique scenarios. Like some of them turning coat or saving a kitty.
This clearly started with Slur’s brother, so it may be a case where a once noble goal just got twisted overtime.
We already know that the JAA is a very abusive monopoly in the assassin world, so it’s not like the goal of stopping them is inherently bad.
