"The Merchant of Death" is a real person named Viktor Bout. He is a heinous criminal, making a fictional character like this and then going "oh actually he is a good person" is kind of fucked up.
A merchant that will ignore all laws and sell anyone anything might be useful but those actions are what allowed like actual genocides and shit to happen

I'm pretty sure the pig dude, (from what I can tell) is just your ordinary merchant who just so happen to trade goods in places where there was active conflicts and that earned him the nickname but in reality the dude was just taking a MASSIVE risk to be able trade goods from places in a conflict zone to other places where they can't get the goods anymore

I don't know much about the the real "The Merchant of Death" but I don't think the pig guy is supposed to represent those kind of people

Sheesh, I don't think the author connected the real Merchant of Death to this one, so relax.

Also, didn't the previous US admin trade the literal Merchant of Death for a freaking Women's NBA player who actually did break the law? 😬

Ehhhhhhhhhh I hate this undeserved redemption.

His plan to steal+sell the magic crystals was stupid from the start since it was super easy to trace who did it, being a new and unique product (for now).

He cares about his children? Then he just seems even stupider for using this risky plan in the first place. Worst case scenario, his whole family is executed for treason or something.

Trust? Piggy started by stealing the crystals from villages that sorely needed them. Every death or property destroyed that could've been prevented by the crystals is all on him. The author should've really brought this up.
