You know what I like about this manga? There's actual progression, actual storytelling that goes on.
Every arc in a manga is like the scene of a play or movie or tv show. And good storytelling requires that every scene be accompanied by some kind of reversal of fortune. Boy loses girl, boy gets girl etc. Boy starts off scene unhappy, ends happy. A couple has a secret at the scene start, and by the scene end that secret is exposed, etc.
So many manga (looking at you, rental girlfriend manga, loli office coworker manga, senyruu shoujo manga, etc) just never accomplish this. Nothing changes from scene to scene. The characters are static, treading water in their emotions and relationships and values. Rental girlfriend manga has 80+ chapters and the MC's situation hasn't fundamentally changed from chapter 1.
If there is no reversal of fortune from the start to the finish of a scene, then the question is "Why even include this scene?" It adds nothing to the story.
So this one is a breath of fresh air because it has real storytelling.
