Ah yes, the ancient japanese art of exiling a worker to the boonies in the hope that said worker will feel useless and resign by himself so the company doesn’t have to feel the shame of firing him because he “resigned willingly” and therefore was toootally not the company’s fault.

(Which will obviously not work if said worker likes to be in the boonies, faffing about, and getting paid for faffing about)

The American way is easier and more effective. Just slowly reduce the hours on their work schedule until they're no longer making enough money to pay their bills. Though in America shame has nothing to do with it... If the employee quits you don't have to pay unemployment benefits. 💰
