One of them says they specifically need to beat him with martial arts - probably a combination of reputation and avenging the martial artists his family has murdered.
I also see a flaw with his style. It's good for quick attacks and assassination but the longer a fight goes on the more the enemy can adapt to attacks targeting a specific weak point (the spine).
