Actually recall reading this novel, it was a good read (over 200ch by now) but i am quite appalled by the quality so far... -_-
They didn't give any background before starting out with the "MC looks dumb but outsmarts the scammers part", its a pretty generic Chinese WN though with an OP MC that creates a harem with hints of cultivation here and there.

MC is a soldier who is assigned by his 'old-man' master to be hired as a body guard for some rich girl (who really hates him). The dude is totally out of touch with the high class lifestyle since he was raised in rural battlefields, this makes for the bulk of their interactions. He settles in the school (plays it undercover) making alot of enemies with your generic rich-kid types who sometimes have gang connections that lead to alot of small conflicts where he shows off his skill. Other half of the action comes with assassination/kidnapping attempts on the miss which he handles smartly (dude is brain over brawn). They live in the same mansion with another girl (who is all over him), but mc is firm on his objectives and he painfully but slowly makes the heroine see him in better light.

Not sure bout ecchi-ness, depends on this author but i can see things happening at the mansion ?

This appears to be a reboot of https://mangadex.org/title/20702/school-beauty-s-personal-master which apparently ran 14 volumes, only the first chapter has been scanlated.

The Chinese characters for the title are identical, it's the same author (although the romanization differs somewhat), the MC (Lin Yi) is the same.
The lead in is completely different, however. Very different, indeed! As in, has nothing in common at all.
The art styles also have nothing in common.
