Why is it that the MC acts like admitting his class is "jobless" is equivalent to admitting he's a rapist? Especially when he's talking to someone else from Japan who should understand the different job classes, etc? this manga uses "slavery" as a way to depict marriage before women's rights, without having to call women's rights into question more directly, since that's still too heretical in occupied japan. it's common, it's one of the top reasons to use a medieval-fantasy setting at all, & you see it in manga for all audiences. there's demand for it because everybody at some level wishes it were still that way.
