Which type will the new teacher be. The ignorant fool who ignores the evidence of his own eyes and tries to fight this newfound magic with all his might because it isn't "the way things are done?" Or will this awaken him from his zombie like stupor and he will be Grimms most vocal supporter.

He actually turns out to be an honest guy. Later in the LN a student asks him about reports of life magic being useful in dungeons. And he doesn't deny it. He acknowledges it, and explains that he's just teaching based on it being more efficient to use other magic to traverse the dungeon. i.e. He doesn't harbor a bias against life magic. He's just trying to do his best to keep his students alive when they go into dungeons, based on the information he has.
The principal does offer MC his teaching job back. But MC has become committed to conquering dungeons by that point, and declines. The female teacher who invited him to help take students to the dungeon, ends up taking over the life magic classes.
