While I hate that behavior by KDT...what evidence do you have that that's the reason for the DMCA? Isn't it simply that they're hosting work they don't have the license for? If anything, MangaDex by not doing anything like that is the place least deserving of being targeted. But they do have all the unlicensed content, and that seems like the only clear reason. That's what DMCA is about.

Mangadex themselves when the DMCA happened said it was a chain effect from sites that were locking translations behind premium paid services so they were making a profit from unlicensed manga, and trust me KDT is worth it especially when they target any uploader that translates and posts any chapter thats on their VIP page thats how the whole incident with them started on CH.40
