Naw, like literally going off of their ages. Mom is 38, daughter is most likely 17 or 18 and she seemed to insinuate they got married right after she graduated, or at least soon after. So, unless she got held back twice without mentioning it, which I believe is actually pretty hard to do in the Japanese education system since high school is technically optional, she was graduated for at least a couple of years before getting pregnant.
