What i like about this one, is that the kingdom had an idea that there was this op kid running around doing stuff. The fact that in the last chapter the princess had an understanding of what was going on with him makes me wonder if there were schemes to kidnap him from that barons family.

I guess I've read enough xianxia that the idea of the human form being the ultimate form doesn't surprise me even in manga anymore. Maybe it actually is an East Asian thing in general, I wouldn't know. Though that being said, even in the Bible it's written God created the human after his own image, so it's not like the idea wouldn't exist beyond East Asia. From a purely writing technique point of view, a more or less humanoid monsters is easily made more menacing than a random, beastly monster because humans typically only associate deeper emotions and intelligence with other humans. If a beast kills a human, it's just following its instincts and that sort of things, nothing personal, but if a human randomly kills another human, it's an act of evil intentions.

Cool point of view about the origins of anthropoformization, and it's really a very old tendency if we analyse myths such as the minotaur, cuca, even ganesha.
It's a bit overused in the asians comic worlds but i usually don't dislike it, in truth i'm a big monster girl connoisseur. I just find situations like the one here a bit funny and odd because the queen usually is the only anthro in her whole species, so my brain can't shake off thoughts like "So she mates with animalistic locusts and lay thousands of eggs with an almost human body...?"
But being fair the design here is still very animal like, only the boobs got me by surprise and made my thought it was funny, even more so because of non mammal and still very insect like.
