These stories always tend to get too simplistic and too easy. Every problem gets solved, and all the other potential problems ignored (like, it's fine to know better rice farming techniques that on average produce much larger harvests, but they still can get easily ruined by unfortunate events (weather, swarms of insects, diseases, whatever). But that basically never happens. Also, never mind the entire woman in a horrifyingly patriarchal society issue ...).

Also, the protagonists and their fucking convenient knowledge ... of course, she's got that backstory, but still ...

Anyway, Greater Japanese Empire here we come. Korea should try to get their own isekai-OP-protagonist before they get invaded ^^

A little background:
The Ayanokouji clan consulted in this chapter really exist. They are of an important urinke class (warrior) clan of the Fujiwara and Minamoto households. If she is recognized (or perceived) to be part of the Ayanokouji warrior clan, nobody can complain that she is made an advisor or local minister. Oda clan is descended from Taira clan, so they probably didn't have an Ayanokouji house serving them.

BTW, Nobunaga already has firearms. He actually has a lot of muskets by this point as he used firearms to convince Saitou Dousan to ally with him.

An isekai author not well versed in history!? Unheard of!
Seriously, isekai is one of the lowest-effort genres in the medium, so what exactly did you expect. I appreciate the lecture though.

The Chinese used the Nine-Nine multiplication method which relies on the use of a 9x9 multiplication table and direct addition of multiplication results in decimal increments. Inverting it to do division is a total pain in the ass requiring multiple lines of calculation. There is an anecdote of Nagao Kagetora (Uesugi Kenshin) calculating the triangular number 55 (the result of adding all the numbers from 1 to 10) by using the median method, and everyone thought this was magic and Kagetora a genius.

I know some of these words :)

Shizuku being able to calculate 3 warehouses with only six lines of numbers would not look like arithmetic but utter witchcraft to 16th century Japanese.

😂

TIL. Sincerely thank you!

@sssr Their reaction seemed in line with what you said other than the negative connotation of witch. It was never claimed Nobunaga could make sense of long multiplication or Arabic numerals. They were still using rod numerals after all. Saying she's been taught by Westerners is all the explanation needed for why she has advanced technology and printed paper which is about a hundred years old at this point. Even without knowledge of the book, they seem to have figured out if they just throw her at a problem, they can force her to come up with a solution. You're right that they'll run into a wall if she doesn't know to make smokeless powder or modernize metallurgy, but you can get pretty far with just die-casting yes?

We are well already that this mangá is more based on bullshit than actually story, but it's a good commentary.
Now I want to see how she will meddle with Oda's tanegashima business. By that time Oda was already wanting for a order of hundreds.

Ahaha, sugar canes in japan, there is a reason why they only cultivate sugar canes in the Caribbeans...

Man this manga is fun. its such a delight. I don't care for a lot of modern isekai but a fun historical romp dealing with issues that plagued people back then? im on board. its so weirdly endearing.

@Huapollon That's not that outrageous. India (2nd) and China (3rd) and other Asian countries are some of the largest producers; Japan being 24th globally. So depending on local climate it should be possible. It's just Europeans liked using the Caribbeans for a variety of reasons (shipping routes, available labor, etc).
