Honestly, that's a healthy way to give up on unrequited love and still be friends, Aoi is unfortunately still suffering from abandonment issues but with friends like that there's hope for her.

Shame there's nobody in the story so far for Aoi, hope there will be another character introduced and Makoto with Ryuji will help her out and keep her safe as she can easily be manipulated in her condition.
