That's the plot point, Red already was broke inside, the team starting to crack was the last straw and pink solution being something easy to solve, he just took the idea all is for revenge against the kaijin, also if wasn't pink, green also was a bad day from a domestic violence incident...she's next isn't it?

They are powerful enough to beat the pipsqueeks yes but what if a monster comes that requires all of the rangers at max possible bond to beat? Keeping the affair going on is the only way to prevent a loss from that
Its a really hard world after all you gotta make these typa sacrifices
