The theoy is that Tokiko actually died, and to keep the body alive her soul was the price, so the body lived in automatic mode, my personal take is that she temporalily died, and because she was a newborn she took some damage in her brain making it impossible for her to truly empathize with anyone or feel strong emotions.

Regarding the deaths, I know this has the supernatural tag, but for me they were some nasty and horrible casualities around her, and her personality makes it all the worse.

I really like Tokiko as a character to be honest, I feel like I would get along with her pretty well, I like her way of thinking, but I am not that extreme cause I do feel pain when someone aroun me dies.
