I'm a little mad at myself for not thinking that all the dark items were made out of Unique Skills sooner. In retrospect, it makes complete sense as to where the items came from and why they were so strong, as well as why Philo and her amnesia is so important.
On the flipside...I REALLY worry about how some of these Unique Skills actually are. "Bottle that converts water into milk" or "gun that turns people into slime" had to be quite the...imaginative power to be born with.

As stated in the chapter, the bondage gear is actually Lavi's dad's power. Hence why it didn't work today, it was already depowered. It did always had a pretty straightforward boost, just increases physical strength and durability.
