Last page - Garo was also a popular tokusatsu series from about 20 years ago but with new stuff even recently. But it was also a really, really (in)famous and influential manga magazine from mid 60s to about 2000. If it was weird, experimental, and or porny it was likely in Garo or one of the many imitators that sprung up, like Tezuka's COM. If you've ever seen a manga with ugly art and a bizarre plot and random pooping and sex and violence, like Neko Jiru, that's Garo-kei.
Since it's the most disturbing choice of a band, a tokusatsu show, or a random violence and porn comic, I'd like to think that's what Kumeta-sensei meant.
