It's kinda sweet how even if she is a tortured slave, which might've numbed her feelings all together, she knows and cares about to not to ruin a child's innocent fantasy (even though the child in question will probably end up dying before her.)

Honestly, I know I’m probably overthinking it, but every time she looks at granny and actually thinks of her as a kid instead of just calling her one to be a smartass because of elf aging like I initially thought, I get a little less certain of how strong her understanding of human culture really is. It’s starting to get to the point where I’m wondering if she was ever even actually enslaved in the first place, or if she just fundamentally misunderstood something in the scenario.

Hell, considering how much she smokes, and that she said that before this she was making a living playing guitar with her teeth and making animal noises, I’ve actually gotten more and more convinced just while typing this that this entire story might just be the aftermath of her friends/family holding an intervention for her and trying to set her up with a normal job or something.
