To begin with, he had no reason to use his abilities solely to serve other people, at any given point in any of his previous lives, he could've just retired somewhere. This is just all leading to the MC being OP, and being OP alone. That would've been a lot less grating if the prologue wasn't so angsty about "doing things differently".

Poor goblins, tired of all the people intruding into their territory they try to talk and go grab him instead of immediately attacking and he murders them all.
What if in this story goblins are the dominate species and humans are treated like goblins thus getting in the way of living life they way he wants. So he goes to change that by starting a massive war uniting humans to become the dominate ones and in the end he gets the title God of War

How pathetic must the mc be to live three times and still just follow whatever other people decide for him? Before he realized he was a magic emperor or a god of swords, so just like every other generic trash japanese mc, this means he just went with the flow without taking any decision for himself right?

If you read again you will see that he decided to dedicate himself into learning magic in his first life, becaise it was fun and... well... if you could do magic out of nowhere the most logic action is to learn as much as you can about it.
Then the second life he decided that since he already knew all there was about magic he would learn to fight and decided on the sword as his weapom, that he was a hero and employed to fight monsters is just background.
This is his third life, not the fourth, since the life he was in Japan and the one he became the magic emperor are the same.
Basicaly he is a talented and hard working individual that is able to reach the ultmost potential in what he puts his mind into doing and took him two lifes to realize that humans despise those that are too good at something.

I was focusing more on his dialogue (page17) about how fighting day by day for the sake of others and he couldn't even find a tiny bit of joy in his life because of it. Yes, he did pursue what he wanted, but at the end of both lives he still just went with the flow and did what others expected of him. That's what makes me think that he doesn't know how to say no, just like the majority of protagonists out there.
By the way, what other manga did you talk about in your other comment? The one about a spider chick.

Ah this again .... Op mc that want to not standing out or slow life or what the fuck it is, then saving the humanity again without reasoning. The assassins series that have group called shadow garden or something with the mc acting like an idiot is better than most of this kind series.
