A little disappointing neither Aria nor Haku got to show off in the battle. Next time I hope they can do so, and it's not all Shion doing the heavy lifting. The other dude got his party members to assist, after all. It's only fair the two of them get to show off too.

"I was just following orders"

I knew it, she'd say something like this. Good slap by Aria, Shion's got a soft spot for the ladies so he really is vulnerable to deception by them. Someone who patiently deceived you for 3 whole years before the ultimate betrayal isn't trustworthy. I guess getting her to talk was somewhat useful, but they should take what she says with a grain of salt. There's the possibility the [Curse] hero isn't even an enemy, and maybe they had these curses placed on them because they also attacked him/her like how they wronged Shion.

In any case, I don't want to see Emily join his party, please don't turn this into a harem later on. Aria is more than enough.

This MF will spare Hitler if he even so much as cry in front of him.
Have you seen the difference in immediate Post-War treatment between Germany and Japan?

Hitler and all the Nazi leadership are taught as Pure Evil in German schools, and throughout Germany. (And rightly so; fuck all Nazis, forever)
Hirohito, it is taught, was held to be "not responsible" for starting the war, and the other Japanese leadership are taught to be just soldiers doing a job; they were "just following orders."
BUT...

The Japanese largely know what happened at Nanking, what they did throughout (former) Manchuria, The Philippines, Micronesia, and (in-fucking-particular) the atrocities spanning decades in Korea. Korea was treated as a slave-state by Japan starting in about 1907; that's the only place we KNOW that "samurai" tested their swords by grabbing people from the street and seeing how many they could cut through, for example.

And they got completely, One-Hundred percent forgiven for "just following orders," after multiple murders and Sexual Assaults.

So... yeah; there are a lot of people who think that's okay. Their whole family exists because it's considered okay.

I get that this is coming from a culture that values one's individual life over the lives of others.
I get that, understood that when i started reading. Agree or disagree doesn't come into it, cos I know what I'm reading.

That. Said.

What is the difference between a powerful mage and a hero? If it's just raw power, then why claim some big title? Why help anybody? Who the fuck cares?

But, if a "hero" is more than that, if a hero is somebody who (according to every fucking source) puts the lives of OTHERS ahead of their OWN, then should the "Earth Hero" not at least, like, pass his title onwards? And, if necessary, perhaps even give his own life?

I mean, that's what he signed up to do, right?
To "do the right thing, even if it cost his life?"

Otherwise, you have no business claiming the word "Hero," do ya? Ya fuckin' schmuck.
