THE AMOUNT OF MIXED FEELINGS I HAVE BRUH
personally, the ending is awesome, not gonna lie. however, the worldbuilding is as empty as the outer space's mass vs void ratio. then again, it took me much more time to read the last five pages than like one full other chapter. too much screaming and jumping and smiling, cant concentrate at all. BUT, just when i have finally resigned to the thought that this is the end of the series, not axed, I READ THE SCANLATION AFTERWORDS. now i HAVE to, nay, i NEED TO find the novels.
never felt this much of feelings like this since probably the ending of Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san. now they really need to make spinoff manga like "(Moto) Shimotsuki-san wa (Moto) Mobu ga Suki". i'll even pay if needed, much to my poor financial situation.

its funny that i was up to date until chapter 18 and it finished at 19 and im finding that out months later. well even if its axed rushed ending is justified to me makes everything overall better instead of finishing it as ''ill tell you, ill show you my love later''. also according to the people coming from novels its better to end here according to spoilers bc author messes up the story so much. so yeah thank you for the translation.
if you dont intend to go for the LN or WN. Read betetta spoilers. Think author got the story all over the place, losing focus? or just plain "dont know what to do so lest try". WN looks better? whatever, manga is more grounded, and should be the ultimate art piece... but axe rushed things, but at least we got something. gg.

The novel felt like a joke where the punchline is delivered with terrible timing, then the person telling the joke tries to make it longer, there are some incredible plot points there if executed correctly, that's the reason the ending leves you with a "that was it?" feeling all over.
Now I'll tell you where this author is at it's best... The short fluff stories like the extra chapter, on 19.5 you see the best the novel has: those three in slice of life moments. the author definitely writes family dynamics much better than romance.
My honest opinion is simple, novel should have ended with vol 3, you would have had one volume for each heroine, all redemption requirements met and the story would've had a good conclusion, if the author wanted he could have even given fake Mc a full redemption arc and the last heroine (both Mc and fake Mc would have ended with each other's childhood friend, kinda closes things in a neat bow)
