It's always sorta funny when people in historical stories react to stuff with modern sensibilities?

Like we're a lot more liberal in other ways but some stuff like kissing hands or dancing together at a ball* seems way more exclusive/romantic to us than it would to people in the past.

*Seen a lot of stories where characters act like it's a big deal when someone who's not ML asks for a dance with MC. When really a ball would have a ton of dances and you weren't supposed to dance with the same person too often.
