I think translators dig up the most obscure words just to fuck with us native english speakers. I would have used the word "adept" instead.

Though I think "with your hands" could have been left out since that's included in the meaning of the word... which would have further confused us since there would be less context clues.

Dextrous is the word you're looking for.
