I understand, but seeing him in half with at the machinery inside of him and nothing else. He doesn't even have any organs, blood or anything else. It's all machine.

In this thread- there's a chapter later on, really more of a side story, where shinozaki has to get a shot at the doctors. It's there that he finds out he has to actively focus on making his body either mechanical or nonmechanical (where he's been more mechanical because yuuyake puts him in that mindset, but he has to be nonmechanical for the doctors). So it's also not exactly wrong to say he's becoming more machine! But that doesn't mean he's any less human either, as you say.

It's probably more accurate to say he is unique in that he seems to be constantly accessing his repository space, which is also a very interesting thing to think about! It explains why his head keeps coming off, or at least might give one explanation. Though I'm still fairly certain it was just the trauma of the transformation. Guess we'll see!
